Women empowered bands, Mary Beth Abella, Tomara Petty, Wild Hum (Hannah Rooth), and Emma Salisbury, take the stage at the Cinema Bar for the next installment of #WhenGirlsPlay on Thursday, October 24! We're raising awareness of women musicians and creating community. This is where the cool girls are--you should be there, too. Mary Beth Abella: Mary Beth Abella won the Lionel Richie Songwriting Scholarship at UCLA with her song, "Perfect," was finalist in the Song of the Year contest, a nominee of Westword Magazine’s Best of Denver and was named top 10 artists by the Denver Daily News. Her voice and songs have been featured in TV, movies, and many live performances--most notably her song, "Leave You Behind" was featured on the Real World/Road Rules. Emma Salisbury: 22-year-old Emma from Bondi Beach, Australia is a Sydney Conservatorium of Music graduate who has been traveling the world since, developing inspiration for her folk-soul style that harnesses thoughtful lyrics drenched in oozing harmonies. While Emma has performed at notable venues across the globe, the Sydney Opera House and Cavern Club, Liverpool included, her gig at The Cinema Bar, Los Angeles on October 24 will debut her original music for your ears only.
